Youth Art Intensive 2025 at Burnside Civic Centre

Through a series of hands-on workshops, you’ll learn how to create your own mini-comic or zine using engaging storytelling techniques. Each session will build on the last, covering everything from character design and comic layout to zine formats and DIY publishing.

You’ll be encouraged to explore themes such as identity, self-reflection, friendship and humour, drawing on personal experiences to craft meaningful, creative work. By the end of the course, you’ll produce a finished zine or mini-comic based on a local theme.

This opportunity is open to young people aged 13–18 who live or study in the City of Burnside. Only 10 places are available – an application is required.
